How soon can
I walk on it?
Keep pets, children and regular traffic off the carpet for a period of six
hours. The homeowner may use the carpet lightly immediately after cleaning
by wearing the "booties" we provide, or socks or house slippers. Wait 24
hours before removing Styrofoam blocks and plastic tabs that are put in
place to protect the furniture and carpet. Some carpets may still feel
slightly damp for up to 18 hours depending on the carpet fiber type and
soiling condition. This is normal and will not cause any problems.
NOTE: Carpet protector is strongly recommended as it can
prevent many permanent stains, assist in resisting traffic area damage and
make future cleaning more effective. Regular foot traffic removes much of
the factory protection from your carpet, leaving your carpet unprotected
could allow permanent stains, premature wear and cause a lower appearance
level. Ask your technician about Teflon protectant.

Do you move
the furniture?
Our regular pricing includes moving most sofas, chairs, end
tables, and other light items of furniture. Beds, dressers and heavier
pieces are left in place under our regular pricing structure. These items
can be moved upon request, however, the homeowner must remove all electronic
items and breakables from any item of furniture that you would like us to
move.
Can you get out.....?
With the experience and expertise our company has, we are known for being
able to get out difficult spots. If a spot is removable, we have what it
takes to get it out. Our vans are stocked with many specialty spotting
agents. However, please understand that there are some things that can cause
a permanent stain. They include, but are not limited to things with dyes,
like red, yellow, blue or green.
My carpet has bleached or faded spots, can you correct that?
If there is color loss in the carpet, It may be able to be spot dyed, or we
can do a carpet repair for you by replacing that area of carpet with another
piece from a closet.
Do you clean.....
-
Berber - Absolutely. Berber is a weave, not a particular type of
fabric. Berber is simply a type of loop construction that may come in
olefin, nylon, wool, or a blend. Berber requires a more thorough cleaning
than other carpets because the "flushing" action needs to take place to get
under, around, and through the loops. Other companies that are not as
thorough as we are have a lot of problems with Berber because they leave
soil behind that "wicks" back to the service.
-
Wool - Yes, we have special products that we use for
wool.. We use lower pressure, lower temperature & take special drying
precautions for cleaning wool.
-
Haitian Cotton - yes, we have special Haitian cotton
cleaner, or we can dry-clean it.
What do I do after my carpeting has been cleaned?
Immediately after cleaning: Floors can be slippery after cleaning. Be
careful when walking from the carpet to a hard surface until the carpeting
is thoroughly dry. Remove any blocks or tabs after 24 hours. Vacuum carpet
anytime after a 24 hour period.
Maintaining your carpet: Vacuum your carpet often, once or
twice a week is recommended. Dirt is extremely abrasive and can easily
damage carpet fibers as you walk back and forth on it. Remove any spills or
spots immediately. Red wine, red beverages, urine, blood etc. can cause a
permanent stain if not treated immediately. Never scrub your carpet with a
brush, use a white terry cloth rag to blot the stain up and rinse
thoroughly. Do not use store bought cleaning chemicals as they can damage
your carpet. Call our office for specific advice on spill removal.

Helpful Hints
Routine Care
One of the best ways to help your carpets look better and last longer is to
remove your shoes when entering from outside. Place a shoe rack or basket
near the door to hold "outside" shoes and one to hold "indoor" slippers or
shoes. Socks are fine, but avoid going barefoot on the carpet, as oils from
your feet can cause the carpet to soil more easily.
If you want to keep your outside shoes on while indoors,
place walk-off mats in the entry ways. Walk-off mats will greatly reduce the
amount of soil and dirt brought into your home. The best kind of walk-off
mat is one that allows you to take at least three steps on it before walking
off onto a carpeted surface. Walk off mats need to be cleaned often, so
select one that you can easily throw into a washing machine.
A good vacuum cleaner can be a carpets best friend.
Vacuuming at least once a week protects your carpet from premature wear by
removing the dirt and other fine particles that can act as abrasives as you
walk across your carpet. Periodic vacuuming of your upholstery will keep it
looking its best. High traffic areas or a favorite chair may need vacuuming
more frequently. It is best to set the vacuum height at a level that gives a
slight resistance when pushing it over the carpet or upholstery. Using a
quality vacuum bag and changing it frequently will allow your vacuum to
function at an optimum level.
To reduce chances of color fading on your carpets or
upholstery be sure to draw the shades or draperies when the sun shines in on
them. Consider tinting your windows with a window film that is designed to
block out the harmful UV rays to minimize chances of color fading.
Stain Removal
Anytime a spill occurs it should be cleaned up as soon as possible. The
chance of removing the spot or stain from your carpet or upholstery are 75%
greater if the spill is attended to immediately after it occurs. For most
food or beverage spills or pet accidents, blot as much of the liquid or
debris up with a dry cloth or paper towel. Next, use a white terry cloth
towel, and press it deeply into the spill, blotting it dry. Rubbing or
scrubbing your carpet or upholstery with a rag or brush will only damage the
fibers and permanently scar the appearance of your carpet or upholstery.
If the spot is still present, apply clear, warm water and
blot it dry again. If clear water does not do the trick try using a solution
of mild, non-bleaching, detergent that does not cause excessive foaming.
consult a professional for the recommended type of cleaning agent (Most
grocery store brands tend to leave too much residue). Apply the cleaning
solution and allow it to dwell for up to ten minutes, then rinse it
thoroughly with warm water and blot it dry. Use a round vacuum attachment or
shop-vac to remove as much of the moisture as possible. If you do not have
either type of vacuum attachment use a white terry cloth towel, weighted
down and allow it to sit for several hours.
Stubborn stains may require professional extraction.
Sometimes a deep spill will appear to have been removed only to recur days,
or even weeks later. Again, consult a professional carpet cleaner for
solutions.
Periodic Cleaning
Carpet and upholstery are some of the most expensive investments in your
home. To protect your investment it is necessary to have them properly
cleaned by a professional cleaner at least once a year. When you call a
professional technician out be sure to have him pre-inspect the carpet, call
his attention to any stains or other items that may require special
attention. Let him know what caused the stain or spot if possible. This will
help the technician to determine how to best treat the area and help him to
remove any persistent stains that are not permanent. Regular cleaning will
preserve the beauty your carpet and upholstery and help it to retain fiber
strength.
Don’t wait for your carpet or upholstery to look dirty
before having it cleaned. Carpet can hold up to a pound of dirt per square
foot before it starts looking dirty. Regular, professional cleaning, with a
truck mounted, hot water extractor also improves your indoor air quality and
helps to sanitize the carpet by removing dust mites, pet dander, bacteria,
pollens and allergens from the carpet and upholstery. This process allows
allergy suffers to feel more comfortable in their homes.
Carpet and upholstered furniture enhance the beauty and
value of any home. They provide the atmosphere for the room and allow the
accessories to stand out. Carpeting will keep your home warm and cozy
looking, as well as attractive and appealing, for many years. Regular,
professional care will allow your carpet and upholstery to look beautiful
for years to come.
